The Born of a novel Dual-ion Battery Technology

Nowadays, the wide application of portable electronic devices and electric vehicles, as well as the development and utilization of renewable energy have promoted the rapid development of secondary lithium ion batteries. However, the low electrical energy density, high manufacturing cost, and the toxic metals in the electrode materials will cause environmental pollution. Therefore, the research team developed a high capacity anode-graphite cathode new dual ion battery technology, the new battery structure and reaction mechanism not only significantly improved the operating voltage of the battery (4.2 V), greatly reduced the quality and volume of the battery at the same time, thus improved the whole battery energy density, and lower the manufacturing cost. The work was published in Adv. Energy Mater. 2016, which has been widely reported by domestic and foreign academic media such as German Science Network, Science and Technology Daily.
