Currently, lithium ion batteries (LIBs) have been widely used in intelligent electronic devices, electric vehicles, large energy storage and other fields. However, lithium resource reserves are limited and unevenly distributed; in addition, with the rapid growth of the demand for energy storage devices year by year, the production cost of LIBs rises rapidly. Therefore, it is urgent to develop next-generation efficient and low-cost energy storage devices. Sodium ion battery has attracted wide attention due to its abundant resources and low cost, and its similar physical and chemical properties with lithium ions. Recently, our research team has developed a new type of sodium-ion based dual-ion battery with high performance and low cost. The research results show that the battery has a good cycling performance. In addition, the raw material and manufacturing costs of the battery are significantly reduced, and it will have a good industrial prospect in the field of large-scale energy storage in the future. The relevant research result has been published in Advanced Energy Materials, which has also been widely reported by ScienceNet and other media.
